Brief Update... Molten Core... Molten Core...

Thursty is a hushed tush

I'm about mid-swing into my vacation now.  The week has gone about as slowly as I'd anticipated, with much of my time being spent cleaning around the house, and working on a bunch of non-gaming projects.  That being said, you're not here to listen to my boring non-gaming life, so let's move on!

My Serpent Skull campaign is already two sessions in, and I've had one PC death.  I plan on doing a proper update on the campaign in the near future, but sufficed to say, the campaign is going as well as I'd hoped.  There's something about running a pre-built adventure path that removes a lot of GMing stress, and puts you in more of the 'player shoes' as someone who is running something not of your own design.  I remember fondly my first real forays into non-homebrew material with my first campaign of EnWorld's  War of the Burning Sky...

Speaking of EnWorld, I've started conversion work on the second adventure in the Zeitgeist adventure path!  If you were a fan of the first one, or if you're a fan of detective style noire adventures, this one is going to be something really special.  Ryan Nock's mind is hard at work on 'The Dying Skyseer', and from what I've seen, this adventure could outshine the already epic beginning to the adventure path.

Due to my time spent freelancing, I haven't had enough time to post a 'proper' non-blog gaming related update to the site.  I wanted to partially rectify this by putting up some gaming related material for digestion by the masses.  So, to start in a new series of 'random gaming material', I am posting two stat blocks that remain unused from my old Golarion all-elf campaign; 'Tears of Kyonin'.  These two baddies were going to be faced as the party infiltrated a House Caldrana volcano fortress known as the Molten Fastness!

Bridge Warden:  Guarding the front of the Molten Fastness was an abnormally sized Thoqqua that the Caldrana magisters had bound to serve the house.  The PCs would have fought this creature on a vast stone bridge strewn with rubble that spanned over a great pool of lava.  Not really needing a proper name, I kept 'Bridge Warden' as my initial description of the beast.

Caldrana Magi:  Meant to be encountered in small groups within the fortress, the Caldrana Magisters were my first attempt at making a proper Magus using the then recently released Ultimate Magic.  As the party ventured further into the volcano fortress, they would encounter Magi such as these leading smaller packs of drow soldiers.

That' s all for now.   Let me know if you're interested in seeing more of my unused material for the 'Tears of Kyonin' game (there's tons of it), or any other rules-ish material.

GEEKY DISCLAIMER:  In no way are the above two NPCs 100% correct.  Keep in mind that these were made as part of a homebrew campaign, and while I do my best to ensure accuracy, there are likely some little bits / pieces that are incorrect with them.  As prepping for a home campaign is hard enough, I tend to make sure most NPCs look ok and not worry about complete accuracy in stats.  Basically, if you find a problem in how these are built...  good for you.
